At room temperature, CFC-12 is colorless, transparent, non-toxic, non-flammable liquefied gas under the autologous pressure. It has excellent thermal and chemical stability. It does not corrode metals except magnesium and magnesium alloy. It is easy to dissolve in hydrocarbons, halohydrocarbons and certain solvents at any ration, but not in water. As a convenient and safe refrigerant, it can be used in a various of refrigeration system, obtaining temperature range from -60°C to 10°C, and used in many fields, such as, spice industry, medical treatments and plastic industry.
